A question for all those writers out there – how important is it to keep to one viewpoint in a conversation?
I was told that changing viewpoints in the middle of a scene was poor writing – but I have discovered it in published novels and now I am editing someone else’s work I am unsure whether to insist that they rewrite it.
Being an editor is rather like judging a beauty contest – I keep thinking I don’t want to upset the author!
