For the first time the Worthing ‘Sea Scribes’ had a performance slot at Worthing Music and Arts Festival where six of us had the opportunity to read in front of an adjudicator and a small, but appreciative audience. The great thing about our group of local writers is that we are all so different – and our writing covers almost every area, modern and historical novels, poems, fantasy, autobiography and non fiction.
My short story about a burglar caused some merriment. There’s something really good about being able to make people laugh.
The adjudicator was Jenny Thornton and she was very positive, encouraging and helpful. The atmosphere was so relaxed we all had an enjoyable time. I came home with a certificate and even more enthusiasm about writing, and performing, than I had before!
