Writing for a competition

by juliecround

I thought I had better research the company who are setting the competition I wanted to enter. It’s a good job I did. It seems that, where I was going to have three main characters and tell their stories, which would mean six people if they each had a romance, they only want two – so the whole fifty thousand words has to be about two people, with very little about secondary characters! Surely all those books have already been written! I’m not sure I can do that. I’ll have to scratch the first 800 words already written and start again with the most interesting of the three girls. She’s really going to have some adventures if she has to last the whole book!
