The ‘Voice of Progress’ had its 40th birthday party yesterday in the Barn at Long Furlong. This is the local to Worthing and Littlehampton Talking Newspaper for the Blind and those with restricted vision. I didn’t count but there must have been over 100 people there, volunteer readers and technicians, customers and two local mayors. We were treated to a delicious tea with sandwiches, scones and jam and strawberries and cream with bubbly and tea to drink and a musical interlude to end the afternoon.
The celebration was well deserved and I am proud to be part of such a worthwhile activity, even if it is only reading out loud, something I have always enjoyed doing.
