Writing Magazine had pages of competitions this month so I’ll spend the next few weeks concentrating on those, when I’m not promoting ‘Never Pretend’ or the Worthing Anthology.
I’m tempted to write about Pooley Park where we walked the dog while we were on holiday. It was an old mine workings but the trees have grown up over the shale and it is a superb place for walking or cycling, with waymarked walks and a cafe which is open at weekends. There is a massive lake so we had to put the dog on the lead for a while. If he’d seen a duck he’d have been in after it. As it was, he got scent of a rat by the canal and we had to tempt him away with treats.
Two thousand words into the serial. Have to finish it by October.Back to work!
