I think I’m always like this -(schoolteacher) -but while I’m in editing mode any deviations from normal grammar make me squirm. The latest is an advert on TV and radio about, “Us smoke alarms.” Nobody uses the word “We” any more.I realise it is different when the word isn’t the subject so people are used to saying, “He gave it to us,” but this isn’t the only time I have noticed the missing “we.” Call me a nerd but it is all part of trying to be a writer.
The new book is going to a beta reader on Thursday. I’ve already found some typos.
Back to the drawing board!
